Wednesday, September 11 - How to Play Around the World

Today the students of Room 13 learned how to play Around the World.
Some Grade 2's already knew this game and were excellent helpers as we learned it!

Here is how to play it:

1.  Get two dice and make a circle on the rug.
2.  One person goes in the centre of the circle and faces another student.
3.  Someone rolls the dice.
4. Using the biggest number first, everyone says the addition sentence.

For example if we rolled a 2 and a 4, we would all say 4 + 2.
Then to solve it, we take the biggest number and count on saying (4) 5, 6.

5.  The first person to say the right answer gets to move around the circle.

We had our first two Me Bag presentations.
They taught us a lot about each other.
One person brought in a puppy dog picture they had colored on a camping trip with a special friend.  It was very cute!
Another person brought in a figurine of a puppy with a head that bobbed around.  We were very careful passing it around the circle as it was a reminder of a very special pet.

We are looking forward to more presentations tomorrow.
