We discovered Fort Calgary used to be a Northwest Mounted Police station.
We learned about the mounted police. They wore bright red uniforms.
We acted out a play that happened in the past. Some of the characters were John Ware and Sam Livingston. We got to wear costumes.
We ate lunch in groups of four and after we ran around outside.
We learned that Calgary had a big fire that burned down 14 buildings in the city.
Buildings made of sandstone don't burn and our City Hall was originally made of sandstone.
We learned about tipis.
We built a house - a small one. It was made of logs and sod.
We had to cooperate and work together.
It was really fun.
When we got back to class a mysterious plant lover had given Room 13 all new plants!
WOW! They look amazing!
Thanks to all the parents for returning forms and paying fees so we could go on this amazing trip.
A special thanks to volunteers who accompanied us. It was a great day all around!
